The President of the Ship Owners Association has called on the interim government to step in and do something to help them counter the increase in fuel prices.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Dhuruga Prasad said their pleas have fallen on deaf ears for many years now and with the recent fuel increase, ship owners are finding it hard to stay afloat.

Prasad said a lot of people in the outer islands rely on their services so the interim government has got to do something to help them so that people don't suffer.
