Sharps/Flour price increases
The Prices and Incomes Board says the global shortage of wheat and surging prices is at present a global issue of concern and Fiji like other countries is experiencing its impact in the local market.
Effective from tomorrow, the price of one kilogramme of flour will increase from $1.27 to $1.37, 1Kg pack of flour will cost $1.47 an increase of 10 cents, 2kg pack prices increases from $2.58 to $2.79, the four kg pack prices will increase by 40 cents and cost $5.66. A five Kg bag price increases from $6.38 to $6.89 tomorrow, 10kg bags will cost $13.87 which currently costs $12.86. The 25kg and 50 kg bags of flour will cost $33.58 and $66.45 respectively from tomorrow.
Looking at the prices of sharps, the price of one kg sharp increases from $1.28 to $1.38, 1kg packs of sharp will cost $1.48, 2kg pack prices increase to $2.80, 4kg pack to $5.69, 5kg bags will cost $6.93, 10kg pack - $13.95, a 25kg bag price increases to $33.78 and 50kg bag of flour will cost $66.85 from tomorrow. The prices are expected to vary due to transportation and cartage costs.
