The Fiji Human Rights Commission has today revealed that Shamima Ali is no longer the Commissioner of the FHRC.
Chairperson, Doctor Shaista Shameem said that Ali's term as a Commissioner expired in February this year and her comments are baseless.
Ali earlier today raised concerned that there has been no meetings of the Commission since December 2006.
Ali claims that the last meeting she was called to attend was on 12th December 2006, a day after Rodney Acraman was appointed as Chairperson. She said no allowances have been paid to her.
She added that the Commission should have monthly meetings to discuss policy matters, which has not been done. Ali also claims that she was not consulted about the reports being released by the Human Rights Commission.
