Fiji Women's Crisis Centre and Human Rights Commissioner, Shamima Ali supports Pacific Centre for Public Integrity Director, Angie Heffernan's trip to New York to lobby against the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama when he addresses the UN General Assembly on Saturday morning.
Ali said it is everyone's right to do so, even here in Fiji as the Constitution is still in place.
In reply to Acting Interim PM, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau earlier saying that the interim government will move ahead with its plans and that there is nothing that Heffernan can do about it, Ali said the Acting Interim PM feels he can say things like that because the interim administration is backed by the military.
