Shah’s Non-appearance Raises Concerns
At the Inquiry hearing, Justice Connors revealed that Magistrate Shah has failed to appear before him despite being summoned twice before. He said the reasons being given by Tunidau that his client is medically unfit to attend due to a surgery are baseless.
Connor's also said the court case regarding allegations against Magistrate Shah does not stop the Commission of Inquiry from proceeding and he is disappointed with Tunidau's conduct.
However, speaking to Fijivillage News Tunidau said Judge Connors is not a doctor and maintains that his client is not fit to make an appearance.

Tunidau also said Magistrate Shah will not appear before the Commission as there is a case already before the courts.
Meanwhile, Judge Connors said while he is not satisfied he will give Magistrate Shah another chance to appear before him until April 3rd, failing which the resident Magistrate could be liable to prosecution for not adhering to a summons.
Several allegations have been leveled against Magistrate Shah during the course of the Commission of Inquiry into the Magistrates Court and Shah has been summoned to defend himself before the Commission.
The Commission will sit in Lautoka next Thursday.
