The Digicel Fiji Barbarians will play the New Zealand Emerging Sevens team in the first Cup semifinal of the Uprising Fiji International Sevens tournament.

This after the Digicel Fiji Barbarians ended Yamacia’s unbeaten run in the tournament defeating them 26-12 in the first Cup quarterfinal.

Setefano Cakau led by example scoring the first try through an individual effort however it did not take Yamacia long to reply as Waisake Kurisaravi soon crossed the try line.

Ilai Tinai showed his class as he broke away from Yamacia from within his own half for the Fiji Babaas second try.

Yamacia kept the pressure up and was rewarded with a try just before halftime through Jerry Tuilevu to level the scores 12-all.

The second half was dominated by the Digicel Fiji Babaas as Ilai Tinai and Osea Kolinisau scored a try each.

In the second Cup quarterfinal, the New Zealand Emerging Sevens team fought back to beat the Australian Thunderbolts 17-12.

In the third Cup quarterfinal, the FMF Fiji Warriors edged Samoan Barbarians at the final whistle by 15-14.

In the last Cup quarterfinal, defending champion Ministry of Health sponsored Wardens outclassed Tonga by 22-7.

The first Cup semifinal between the Digicel Fiji Barbarians and the NZ Emerging Sevens team will kick off at 3.46pm while at 4.07pm, the FMF Fiji Warriors will take on the Ministry of Health Wardens in the second semifinal.

The Cup final will be played after 7pm.
