Children who are sexually assaulted suffer a lot and carry the burden all their life.
These are the words of Fiji Women's Crisis Centres Shameema Ali whose comments comes in light of the Blue Ribbon Campaign which is marked annually to remember those children who have been a victim of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Ali said more than 80 percent of the cases of sexual assault on children are by the people they know.
She adds that they will be focusing on reducing child abuse cases in the country.
Meanwhile, Fiji Women's Crisis Centre today signed a funding agreement worth 5.3 million Australian dollars, with the Australian Government to help with their work for the next six years.
