Responding to HIV effectively requires addressing the social, political, religious and cultural barriers in a rights respecting manner.

These are the words of the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau while opening the Consultation on the HIV Prevention Treatment Decree in Fiji at the Novotel Convention Centre in Lami this morning, stressing to the participants that sex is still a taboo subject and this in turn is posing a threat to youths who do not have the relevant information to protect them against HIV.

Ratu Epeli says this should change as youths are most vulnerable as they are sexually active.
