Sex before marriage individuals’ choice
While responding to questions raised by delegates of the Pacific Youth Festival at the Vodafone Arena on whether the issue of safe sex contradicts the view of churches, Doctor Rufina Latu said to have sex before marriage rests with the individual and adds that times have changed.
Doctor Latu said religious organizations deal with moral values and young people need to look at the reality of life and live morally, adding that young people need to make the choice of whether or not to have sex before marriage.
This morning, the participants were also reminded by 7s wizard, Waisale Serevi and Super 14 player, Ratu Nemani Nasiganiyavi to focus on sports for a healthy life as this would leave them more focused on positive issues affecting their lives.
The Pacific Youth Festival continues this afternoon with workshops addressing issues like Positive thinking by psychiatrist Selina Kuruleca talking about mental health as well as a health Workshop with Doctor Isimeli Tukuna, the head of the NCD Committee talking about H1N1.
The Pacific Youth Festival will continue in Suva for the whole of this week.
