Serua accepts GCC Promulgation
This is after a team from the National Council for Building a Better Fiji made presentations at the meeting and encouraged that people should be involved and speak out to take the country forward.
Newly appointed Chairman of the Serua Provincial Council Ratu Samu Waqanaceva told the team that they had earlier accepted the Charter process and now they will take the consultation document to their people to get their views.
Ratu Waqanaceva also assured the team that after gathering the views of their people they will make recommendations to the NCBBF on what needs to be contained in the people's charter to take the country forward.
The Serua province also unanimously accepted the Great Council of Chiefs Composition Promulgation after a presentation by the GCC Review Taskforce in Navua yesterday.
The Province will now meet to appoint three members to represent Serua in the Great Council of Chiefs and it has also been confirmed that the Council members will then approach Indigenous Fijian Affairs Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama to seek his endorsement of the members. It has also been confirmed that a Bose ni Vanua in Serua will be held to discuss these matters further and make their recommendations on the people's charter.
