Serua Endorses Names For GCC
Speaking to Fijivillage, Ratu Aseri Latianara, the Vunivalu of the province of Serua, has confirmed that he will also be part of the team together with Ratu Tevita Vitukawalu and Misiele Driubalavu.
While the GCC regulation requires that Chiefs be traditionally installed to be members of the GCC, Ratu Latianara said in his province the title is passed down through their blood line and not installed by the vanua.
The decision was made by the chiefs of Serua in their meeting on Thursday and they have thrown their full support behind the interim government.
Also they agreed on the People’s Charter and the work carried out by the Great Council of Chiefs Review team.
The province of Serua, Macuata and Lau are the only 3 province that have shown their support to the GCC Review and the People’s Charter.
