Winning Dubai Sevens coach Ben Ryan believes the IRB Sevens Series is getting tougher every year.
Ryan said his side was lucky to escape defeat in the last minute against Fiji in their pool game after they lost to Portugal 14-12 in the second pool game.
He added that in South Africa, all teams will be out to beat his side and to be in the same pool with Kenya, New Zealand and Russia, it will make it difficult to qualify for the quarterfinals.
For the Fiji team coach, Iliesa Tanivula knows the areas he will need to work on for this weekend’s tournament.
Tanivula said it will not be an easy ride in the pool games as they have USA and Samoa, and they will not let the mistakes that cost them the Dubai title to affect them again in South Africa.
Fiji is in Pool B with Samoa, USA and Namibia.
Fiji will open their South Africa Sevens campaign against Namibia on Friday night at 11.43pm.
