7s maestro Waisale Serevi's rugby career with the Fiji 7s team is over.

Village Sports has received confirmation from the Fiji Rugby Union Games Committee that the 7's wizard will never return to don the national jumper.

Games Committee Chairman Rafaele Kasibulu said that the FRU board has decided that it is time to give younger players a break in the 7s code.

Kasibulu added that coach Josateki Savou together with Jope Tuikabe and Manasa Bari have been advised to build a team for the IRB 7s series that will be in top form to defend the Melrose Cup next year.

When questioned on whether the greatest 7s player will return to coach or assist the Fiji 7s team, the FRU said that Serevi has resigned and they have a coaching staff in place to guide the Fiji team.

Tomorrow at 7pm after the finals of the BP National 7's in Lautoka the 12 member team to the Wellington and San Diego 7s will be announced together with the 25 member training squad for the Hong Kong 7s.
