Seven's maestro Waisale Serevi has rated the Digicel Fiji 7s team as one of the favourites to win the New Zealand 7s.
Serevi who is now coaching the Papua New Guinea side said the Iliesa Tanivula coached side has the players who have been together for sometime in the IRB 7s series which will give them an edge in the tournament.
The Papua New Guinea team is in the same pool with Fiji and they will face off in the second pool game on Friday afternoon at 5.24pm in a match which Serevi is hoping his boys will be able to match the Fijians.
Fiji is in Pool B with Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
They will play Scotland in their opening pool game at 2.28pm on Friday.
The New Zealand 7s will kick off on Friday at 1pm with Samoa playing France.
