Some senior police officers have confirmed receiving a letter from police headquarters stating that they should go on leave from tomorrow.

The letter clearly states that the Force is following the court ruling about the retirement age and are sending the officers who are over 55 on leave owed to them.

The letter also thanks them for their service to the force. Some officers who have been told to go on leave have spent more than 36 years in the force.

However an Interim Stay order had been imposed on the implementation of the retirement age policy at 55 years by the Chief Justice Anthony Gates.
