The Labasa soccer team coach has raised concern that Babasiga Lion's performance has detoriated in the past years due to the non-existence of local league competition.
Epeli Levaci is now facing difficulties in putting up a team for the National soccer league match against Nasinu as senior players like Roy Krishna, Thomas Vulivuli and Misaele Draunibaka did not turn up for training after BOG.
Levaci said if the local league competition had been running in Labasa, he would have selected other talented players and left out the stars.
Labasa currently has 20 points and sits on the 7th spot in the National soccer league competition.
Babasiga Lions will take on minnows Nasinu at 1pm this Sunday at Subrail Park.
Meanwhile, in the feature match of weekend Lautoka will take on Suva at Churchill Park this Sunday.
The match kicks off at 3pm and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
