A senior Police officer based at the Nadi Police station charged with rape, perverting the cause of justice and destroying evidence has been remanded in custody by the Nadi Magistrates court.
ASP Dharmen Dutt appeared in the Nadi Magistrates court this morning however no plea was taken and the matter was referred to the high court.
Magistrate Sayed Muktar Shah adjourned the case to the 9th of this month.
ASP Dutt was charged by FICAC. Other officers alleged to have assisted the senior officer are also under investigation.
