As investigations continue into alleged corrupt practices within the Land Transport Authority, it has been confirmed that a Senior LTA oOficial has been charged by police to appear in court at a later date.

Police Assistant Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the Senior Manager has been charged in relation to alleged corrupt practices in issuing mini van licenses illegally and also allegedly renewing licenses in exchange for money.

Sokomuri said the Major Crimes Unit is still investigating the findings of the internal audit report and more developments are expected soon.

Meanwhile, it was earlier revealed that several employees of LTA were implicated in the alleged scam to issue minivan licenses illegally.

A report on the internal audit from the Auditor General’s Office is currently with the Minister for Transport and is expected to be tabled in cabinet soon.
