Police are expected to charge a senior civil servant later today who was taken in custody on Friday night for alleged drunk and drive case and for allegedly assaulting a Police Officer.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita confirms the senior civil servant is now admitted at the hospital after he complained of body pains yesterday and was escorted to CWM.
Suliano confirms the civil servant drove his car at Mcgragor road on Friday night allegedly under the influence of liquor.
He said the civil servant allegedly failed to stop his vehicle after Police tried to stop him.
Police than later went to a Suva apartment and tried to arrest him when the civil servant is alleged to have assaulted a Police Officer.
He is expected to be charged later today.
