Interim Health Minister, Doctor Jona Senilagakali is concerned that the taxpayers of Fiji are not getting a fair return on investment from the Fiji School of Medicine.
Doctor Senilagakali said the government forks out millions of dollars a year for FSM however many medical students just leave after finishing off.
Doctor Senilagakali said the Fiji School of Medicine is currently taking an easy ride, which is resulting in a number of doctors leaving after graduating.
Due to this, Doctor Senilagakali confirms that the interim administration will also support the new medical school at University of Fiji.
This would see FSM losing out on the arranged attachments of medical students at the Lautoka Hospital.
FSM is expected to comment later today.
