Employers are being asked to send staff home if they have symptoms of H1N1 to prevent it spreading.
Health Ministry Media Liaison Officer Iliesa Tora said employers need to practice good faith, and let their employees go home even if they have used up their annual leave or sick leave.
On the issue of what is done when a person gets H1N1 or has symptoms, Fiji Employers Federation President Dixon Seeto said naturally they would send their workers home, as they would not want the whole workforce to be infected.
Seeto said employers who do not send their workers home if sick with H1N1 would be a totally irresponsible move.
There are now 19 confirmed cases of H1N1 in Fiji.
