The selection door for the Wellington 7s is still wide open.
This is according to Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan who says he will be keeping a close eye on some upcoming and established players at the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens.
However, Ryan says it will not be easy to compete with those players who have already established themselves in the core squad of the Fiji 7s team.
He says some of players in the team will be playing for their own clubs in the Coral Coast 7s this Thursday.
This includes Sevuloni Moceinacagi, Isake Katonibau, Emosi Mulevoro, Kitione Taliga and Abele Yalayalatabua.
The Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s will be held at Lawaqa Park from this Thursday to Saturday.
The prize money for the men's and women's competition is $20,000.
An extended Fiji 7s side will start training next week in preparation for the Wellington 7s on the 30th and 31st of this month.
Fiji is pooled with Argentina, Wales and Japan in the Wellington 7s.
