With the initial four of the 36 confirmed H1N1 cases fully recovered, the Health Ministry said it benefits everyone to seek treatment early if H1N1 symptoms develop.
Spokesperson, Iliesa Tora said although numbers are expected to increase, nipping the virus in the bud before it gets worse is helpful.
Tora added daily they receive an average of 20 batches of blood samples for H1N1 testing.
Meanwhile, it is still not known at this stage whether tamiflu, used to counter the H1N1 flu, is safe for pregnant women to take.
Tora said the decision to give tamiflu to a pregnant woman entirely depends on the doctor adding everyone pregnant, young or old must take precautionary measures from getting the flu especially during this cold weather.
The WHO said tamiflu is not recommended for pregnant woman as human studies have not determined its safety.
The Organization added there are other anti-viral treatment like Relenza that can be used however this depends on whether this is available from pharmarcies in Fiji and the doctor's recommendations.
