A 33-year-old security officer is expected to be charged later today after he allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old boy at a supermarket in Samabula on Tuesday night.

The victim and suspect were working in the same supermarket when the suspect picked a knife from the shelves and stabbed the victim on his hand.

The suspect fled from the scene after the incident and was later arrested by police.

The victim is admitted at the Suva Private Hospital.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old woman is admitted at Lautoka Hospital with 50% burns after a 19-year-old girl allegedly threw hot water over her.

The incident happened at about 7am yesterday at a settlement at Tavakubu, Lautoka.

According to police, the victim was allegedly having an affair with the suspect's father and as a result she threw a basin of hot water over her inside her father's room.

Investigations into both the cases are continuing.
