Members of the security force deserve our support in their efforts to maintain law and order.

This was stressed by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama in relation to the combined effort of the police and military in the recapture of the five prison escapees.

Speaking as chief guest at the Divisional Crime Prevention carnival at Churchill Park last night, Commodore Bainimarama said we are all outraged that the hardened criminals broke out of Naboro Prison terrorizing the community and the law enforcement agencies are doing all they can to investigate the circumstances.

Commodore Bainimarama also praised the combined effort of the police and military in capturing the five prison escapees.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the government does not condone the use of excessive force.

Meanwhile, two prisoners who escaped from the Naboro Medium facility two weeks ago are expected to appear in court tomorrow.

Chief Operations Officer, Rusiate Tudravu confirms that in addition to Isoa Waqa they now have another escapee in custody with him while the other three are still under medical observation.

Tudravu said the other three escapees are expected to be placed in custody soon where they will then be questioned.
