Security and passenger screening measures have been beefed up for all flights from the Nadi International Airport to the United States following an attempt by a Nigerian national to blow up an American passenger plane on Christmas day.
Airports Fiji Limited Spokesperson Pio Rokosuka confirmed to Fijivillage News that a special room is now being constructed at the International transit lounge to search individual passengers bound for the US.
Rokosuka stresses that these steps must be taken to ensure the safety of the passengers and crew on US flights.
