Police have beefed up security at all the High Commissions in Suva following the death threat made to the Australian High Commissioner James Batley on Wednesday night.

Media Liason Officer Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed officers from the Special Branch have been advised to do constant patrolling around all the High Commissions.

Sokomuri has also revealed that the taxi driver who delivered the letter containing the death threat to Batley was interviewed and released yesterday afternoon, however, the person who gave him the letter is yet to be identified.

The taxi driver told police that a man wearing a bula shirt got into the cab near Kundan Singh Supermarket and upon reaching the Australian High Commission he requested the driver to deliver the letter to the High Commission.
