The Secretary to Cabinet Jowasa Volavola has passed away.
The Office of the Prime Minister confirms that Volavola who was 40 years old passed away after a short illness at the Suva Private Hospital last night.
He is survived by his wife Sala and two children.
Volavaola joined the Cabinet Office in 1997 as the Principal Assistant Secretary and was later promoted to Chief Assistant Secretary. He was appointed Secretary to Cabinet in 2003 after acting in the post since 2001.
The Office of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet offers its deep condolences to his family in this time of sorrow.
