The names of nominees from three Pacific Island countries for the vacant position of the Secretary General have been sent to the Forum Secretariat.
Tongan Prime Minister Dr Feleti Sevele as chairman of the Pacific Leaders forum has confirmed at a press conference in Tonga, that the names have been received by the Forum.
Dr Sevele said the names have been considered and sent to the Forum Secretariat for their final deliberations and a decision will be made at the next Forum meet scheduled for Niue next month.
The position of Secretary General was left vacant following the resignation of career Australian diplomat to the Pacific, Greg Urwin.
