The Health Ministry in collaboration with the World Health Organization will be conducting the second National survey called the "Non-Communicable Disease STEPS" later this month.
National Advisor for NCD Dr Isimeli Tukana said the last time a survey was done was in 2002 and this study found that 80% of the cases were heart diseases, diabetes and cancer.
Tukana said results will show Fiji whether the programs currently in place have been effective for the past eight years.
Tukana adds Fiji can reduce the number of non-communicable diseases if people stop smoking, add vegetables to their diet, are responsible with the consumption of alcohol and practice healthy living.
