The Tui Wailevu has expressed concern at seawater getting into the farms of some farmers in Wailevu Savusavu.
Rau Kinijoji Maivalili said that they are facing a major drainage problem.
He said work by the Primary Industries in the area in building floodgates and fixing drainage problems will help the farmers.
Meanwhile, the Director for Land and Water Resource Management Division Lakshman Mudaliar said they are planning to construct main and primary drains in many areas this year.
The Ministry will be improving drainage system in Vaturova, Saqani, Korolau, Navatu, Wailevu, Cakaudrove, Savusavu and Tunuloa including other areas in the northern division as well.
