Police have today said that the Police search and rescue team conducted the search for the mother and her son who went missing at sea on Tuesday night.
Assistant Police Spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the team which went out to sea at night had managed to find some belongings of the two which included a mobile phone, a pair of socks and a bucket.
According to Tevita when the search and rescue team was leaving for another search yesterday morning, they received a call that a family from Naqara had rescued the mother and her son.
The 51 year old mother and 18 year old son who are from Wailekutu, Lami went out on a fishing trip in the Suva waters on Tuesday afternoon and did not return home.
It was later revealed that their boat had capsized.
Meanwhile, a relative of the woman and her son is not happy with the way the Police responded to the report.
Joji Takape said his sister-in-law and her son was found by a couple of Naqara Island yesterday and not found by the Police and Search Rescue team.
Takape is disappointed that whey they reported the matter to Totogo on Tuesday night, they were referred to Lami Police and they were reassured that help was on the way.
Meanwhile, some people have been taken to CWM hospital after they sustained injuries in an accident in Naboro this morning.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Suliano Tevita said he has not received the full details but can confirm that a road accident occurred at Naboro and some people sustained injuries.
An eyewitness who was passing by told Fijivillage news that a minivan and a truck was involved in the accident.
