A massive search is underway to locate a 45 year old bus driver of Rakiraki who was last seen crossing a flooded river on Wednesday night.

Officer-In-Charge Rakiraki Police station, ASP Sekeaia Suluka has confirmed that a team of 10 police officers have been assigned to search for the bus driver who went missing.

ASP Suluka added that the man got off a bus after returning from work and was seen crossing the Baruto River as his house is located on the opposite side.

Police have warned members of the public not to try and cross flooded rivers and streams.

Meanwhile, after flash floods caused severe damages in Ba yesterday, the Nadi Weather Office warns of more flash flooding today as an active trough of low pressure remains slow moving to the West of Fiji.

Heavy rain is forecast for Suva, Navua, Nausori, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Rakiraki and Labasa throughout today. People living in low lying areas are advised to take precautions.
