The search is underway for a vessel which is adrift in waters between the Yasawas and Lautoka with 50 passengers onboard.
The Police Search and Rescue Unit confirms that the wife of the captain of the vessel received a call that the boats engine shaft is broken and they need assistance.
Police confirm that the 30 foot vessel is carrying 50 passengers including women and children.
Mariners and people living along coastal areas are advised to keep a look out for the drifting boat.
