Scrum/Defence weak areas for Fiji 7s
Out of the top 4 teams that reached the semifinal, Fiji is the only team that has scored the lowest number of tries and also lost two scrums and line outs from their own feed, in the quarter final against South Africa.
England, Samoa and New Zealand who also reached the top four spots won all of their possession from their line outs and scrums while Fiji lost two from these set pieces.
New Zealand scored the highest number of tries crossing on 25 occasions and only conceded 8 tries and has the best defensive record with Samoa scored 28 tries but their try line was crossed on 15 times.
England scored 22 tries while they concede 15 while Fiji only managed with 19 tries and 16 scored against them.
In South Africa this weekend it will be another huge task for Tanivula as they are in the same pool with Samoa who beat them in the Dubai 7s and one of the best attacking team in the series and also hold the proud record of winning most of their restart.
Fiji is in Pool B with Samoa, USA and Namibia.
They will open their 2010 South Africa 7s against Namibia on Friday night at 11.43pm.
