Suva lawyer Rajendra Chaudhry has called on the authorities to scrap the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) and replace it with a special unit in the Police Force.
Chaudhry said given the inexperience and untrained investigators currently with FICAC, it is better that the institution be scrapped and a special major fraud and corruption investigation team be formed in the Police Force.
Chaudhry has also blamed the Interim Attorney General for the blunders made by FICAC.
Meanwhile, over the weekend in an interview with Fijivillage, Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said FICAC is here to stay.
