The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Association Selection Committee will be scouting for raw talent this weekend in the Coca Cola Zero Deans quarterfinals to select a team for a tour to Australia.

Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Chairman Paula Motu has confirmed that a team will be selected from the Under-18 grade to take part in a three match tour of Australia starting on August 30th, the highlight being the curtain raiser match to the Bledisloe Cup in Brisbane on September 13th.

Motu also confirmed that an Under-19 team will also be selected after the Deans finals on August 16th to take part in the Forum of Oceania Rugby Unions Under-19 tournament scheduled to be played in Nadi from the 3rd to the 12th September.

Teams taking part will be from Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, PNG, Solomons, Tahiti and the Cook Islands.

Meanwhile, this week’s Deans quarterfinals will start on Friday at 8am with the Tier 2 competition.

For the first time schools from the North like Holy Cross Family from Taveuni, Labasa College, Saint Bedes and Nadogo Secondary School will be part of the Tier 2 competition.

Gates at the National Stadium on Friday will open at 8am and on Saturday at 8.30am for the Tier 1 quarterfinals.

In the U-19 grade, Lelean will take on Marist, RKS faces Lomawai Secondary School, Ratu Navula up against Nasinu and in the feature match at 3.30pm QVS will play Suva Grammar.
