Scotland 7s head coach Stephen Gemmell has named a strong and experienced 12 member squad for the upcoming World Cup in Moscow.

Jim Thompson who currently plays full-back for London Scottish, makes the squad while the remaining 11 are full-time Scotland Sevens players.

Colin Gregor captains the team at his third World Cup, with Scotland’s top try scorer Andrew Turnbull coming in while Scott Riddell and Colin Shaw will be playing their second.

Scotland is in Pool B with Japan, Russia and South Africa.

Meanwhile the Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that the 12 member Digicel Fiji 7s team will be named next Monday.

The 7s Rugby World Cup will be held from the 28th to the 30th of this month.

Fiji is pooled with defending champions Wales, Tonga and Uruguay.
