All the principals and head-teachers have been warned to keep a look out for the possible Influenza H1N1 outbreak in schools.

Education Minister Filipe Bole said children are more susceptible to the sickness than adults because of their nature and are also found to shed more flu virus for longer periods.

He is calling on schools to immediately send students who are showing signs of flu with high fever home while he asks parents not to send their children to school if they have fever.

Bole is also calling on teachers to supervise the cleaning of toilets and washrooms in schools and not to leave it on prefects or other senior students to do it.

All schools have been advised to instill health hygiene in schools for students like washing hands after visiting toilets and using handkerchief for sneezing and coughing.
