The Ministry of Education has informed all school committees, Principals, Head Teachers, teachers, parents, guardians, students and stakeholders in education that all schools in the country will remain closed from 6th to 17th August, 2007.
The ministry said the directive has been endorsed by the Interim Prime Minister, and for this reason, there will not be any exception or alternative holiday dates for any school.
It said this also includes all Methodist schools, which will also have to take their holidays from 6th to 17th August, with other schools in the country.
The Education Ministry also said that it is mindful of certain programmes that will be disturbed because of the change, however they apologize for the inconvenience caused.
