Following the devastating floods earlier this year, the Poor Relief Society paid a total of $12,072 to assist 232 students from the Western and Northern Division.
A total of 20 schools received the assistance which was in the form of bus fares, book fees and building maintenance fees.
Society President Sabita Gandhi added they are also providing food rations to 14 families on the first Wednesday of each month and also organize medical workshops and free medical check-ups.
