Schools increase in Coca Cola Games
Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association General Secretary Vuli Waqa said 148 schools will take part this year compared to 123 last year but the number of athletes has decreased.
Waqa said last year 2,204 athletes took part but they are expecting about 2,140 athletes this year.
Waqa also said that they will have to check out the new ANZ Stadium before making any changes to the two day Coke Games.
Some of the new schools taking part this year include Uluivalili Secondary School of Cakaudrove and South Taveuni Secondary School.
Meanwhile, the national torch relay started at the Coca Cola factory this morning and is currently on its way to Bhawani Dayal Arya College before being taken to Sila Central High School and Lelean Memorial School.
The torch will spend the night at Adi Cakobau School.
The Coca Cola Games will be held on the 16th and 17th of next month.
