Good news for some schools who were given grants from the Japanese Government to help with the construction of classrooms and library blocks.

Charge d' Affairs at the Japanese Embassy, Takeshi Tanabe signed grants worth more than $410,000 with the chairman of Board of Governors for Rishikul Primary, Rishikul Nadera and the Koronubu Indian School in Ba.

A total of $151,000 was given to provide a new classroom, library and an ablution block for Rishikul schools.

While Koronubu Indian school in Ba received a grant of $138,700 to construct three classrooms.

This will replace the old wooden classrooms built in the 1930s when the school was established.

The Embassy is confident that such cooperation will serve to strengthen the friendly ties enjoyed by the two Governments.
