Two schools got a timely boost from the European Union's funded Fiji Education Sector Program in Tailevu and Ra this Tuesday.

Dawasamu District School in Tailevu now has a new library while Burewai District School in Ra got the installation of a solar power system.

The Program Education Advisor for FESP Jone Nisau said that the EU's commitment of $56 million has resulted in the completion of 97 new buildings at 70 schools including the Dawasamu library.

He said in addition 132 new buildings at 92 schools are currently under construction at a cost of $22 million and these building's include single, double and triple classrooms, laboratories and many other things.

When the program finishes in November next year, the EU will have constructed 229 new buildings in 162 schools in 18 islands.
