Schools will remain closed today.
In light of the Fiji Bus Association strike being called off in the last hour, the Interim Minister for Education said it is too late now to open the schools as the Education Ministry had earlier announced the nationwide closure of schools due to the strike.
Speaking from the Fijian Resort, Filipe Bole said school will resume tomorrow.

The Interim Education Minister advises that all schools will be closed until further notice due to the bus strike by bus companies today.
In a statement released, Filipe Bole said the safety and welfare of the students is always the Education Ministry's top priority.
Bole went on to say that head teachers and principals are also advised to closely monitor the situation and that pro-active measures are to be taken for the recovery of lost teaching hours.
