Schools Affected By Water Cuts
This time the Ahmadhiya Muslim Primary and Secondary School in Narere has been affected and the Headteacher Mohammed Hanif said he has no option but to send the children home.
The Ahmadhiya Muslim Secondary School has also sent its students home.
Meanwhile, the Water Supply Department PRO Maika Naqalu said engineers have fixed the burst main however there is too much air in the pipes which is resulting in people not getting water.
He said engineers in the 8 miles area are opening the fire hydrants to release the air and people are expected to get water by this afternoon.
Meanwhile, people in Padamlala Road in Namadi Heights are also without water after a burst main this morning. Naqalu said many of the pipes are quite old and the process of changing it is currently underway in the Suva-Nausori corridor.
He said people in Namadi Heights can expect normal water supply by tonight.
