School receives assistance from RFMF
Administrative Officer, Rahim Gul said some gravel has been provided by the RFMF which has been spread where a tent will be placed for students to resume classes. He adds furniture and other stationery have also been provided.
Gul said cleaning up the debris is still underway as they want to ensure that the school opens for classes next Monday.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry is saddened by the burning of classrooms of Lautoka Muslim Primary school. Minister, Filipe Bole said ministry is awaiting a report from the Director of Primary Education, Doctor Brij Lal, before making decisions on the rebuilding of the school. He adds decision will be made after Dr. Lal visited the site and submits his report to both him and the Permanent Secretary.
Bole said ministry has identified funds leftover from some capital vote allocations of this year.
The school has a roll of 591 students including the kindergarten and 16 teachers. The fire affected 385 children including the kindergarden school, who are now staying home until further notice from the management.
Luckily no one was hurt in the fire.
