The interim administration remains firm that school holidays are from 6th to 17th August and no school in the country should ignore the directive.
Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said he is fully aware of the Methodist Church of Fiji's intentions to move the holidays for ten of their schools.
However that will not be allowed.
While Bainimarama is aware of the Methodist Church of Fiji officials wanting to meet with him to try to move the holidays, he said he will not change his decision.
Methodist Church President, Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca said the media does not need to know their plans and he is only answerable to the Methodist Church congregation.
The church had decided to ask ten schools to resume classes next week, for one week and release the students again on August 20th for their second week of holidays. The main reason for making the changes was because of the Methodist Church conference that is scheduled to begin on 20th August and schools like Annesley Primary, Dudley High, John Wesley and Lelean to name a few would be used to billet choirs travelling from other divisions.
