Education Minister said schools can organise holiday classes for students over ruling an earlier directive given disallowing classes.

Last Friday Education Ministry's Director Secondary, Satindra Deo revealed at the 105th Principal conference in Suva that Saturday and Holiday classes have now been prohibited due to poor attendance and supervision, sexual misconduct from students, teachers, administrators, late start and early departure.

He added this puts financial burdens on the parents as well.

However Education Minister Filipe Bole said holiday classes will be allowed and should only be done so in consultation with parents.

According to Deo those teachers who wish to conduct afternoon classes should inform the principals however classes should be only for half an hour adding that there should be consent from parents.
