The Fijian Teachers Association believes that names of schools do not matter whether it is a racial based named.
General Secretary, Maika Namudu said that the school management should be responsible for giving the name of a school but one has to look at what the school offers as the reality of the issue.
Namudu believes that at the end of the day the students are the ones who should feel the benefit.
Earlier on today, Citizens Constitutional Forum director Reverend Akuila Yabaki said that the concept to remove race based naming of schools is not a new concept and Fiji is already committed in taking away such names.
